The following information will help you maximize your Bike for Boys & Girls Club experience!
NEW EVENT LOCATION

In an effort to be environmentally conscious and due to limited parking lot space, we highly encourage carpooling or riding your bike to the starting line. We thank you, in advance, for your patience and cooperation.
- Bike Helmet (helmets are required)
- State ID or Driver’s License
- Water bottle
- Spare tubes and bike pump
- Red rider wristband (located in rider bags that are received prior to ride day) otherwise located at registration
Registration will open at approximately 7:30 AM. If you received your rider bag ahead of time, you DO NOT need to register on the day of the event.
Visit our amazing Bike4BGC volunteers at registration to drop off your pledges in the pledge envelopes. Pledges are due no later than August 31, 2016.
A nutritious energy building breakfast will be available to all riders starting at 7:30 AM. Enjoy local bagels from Bagels Forever, fresh fruit, energy bars and granola bars provided by Metcalfe’s Market, hot Dunkin Donuts coffee and more to help you build the energy you need for a safe and successful ride.
50 - Mile Route – 8:00 AM START. No one will be allowed to leave after 8:30 AM. There are no exceptions.
25 - Mile Route – 9:00 AM START. No one will be allowed to leave after 9:30 AM. There are no exceptions.
8 - Mile Route – 10:30 AM START. No one will be allowed to leave after 11:00 AM. There are no exceptions.
Additional maps will be provided at registration.
Trek Bicycles will be present to assist you with any mechanical programs you may have at their technical tent which will be located near registration.
There are rest stops located every 5-10 miles along each route and are stocked with energy drinks, water, snacks and friendly volunteers who will be able to provide medical assistance if needed, mechanical support and friendly words of encouragement.
FOOD & DRINK
Complimentary food and beverages are intended for riders and event volunteers. The amazing smell of Metcalfe’s and Chick-Fil-A will awaken your nose and excite your taste buds. Treat yourself to a variety of cold beverages and custard provided by Pepsi Cola Madison and Culvers and cookies provided by PDQ stores.
Two local breweries will be serving cold lagers and ales. Only riders and volunteers with tabbed wristbands (issued to participants 21 years and older) will be served alcoholic beverages. Per our insurance policy, we will only serve riders and volunteers. Friends and family will not be allowed to consume alcohol at the event. Beer wristbands can be retrieved at the Beer Wristband table located near registration.
Bag storage will be available from 7:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Bag storage will located in the park shelter located near registration.
Riders will be able to check in their rider bags at no cost. Boys & Girls Club will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Bike for Boys & Girls Club has grown every year since the first ride 14 years ago. In an effort to keep the ride as safe as possible, we strongly encourage you NOT to ride in large groups. Remember this is a RIDE and not a RACE!
We have seen problems occur when riders get tangled up within their packs. We encourage everyone to seriously assess their riding ability and to not ride faster than they are comfortable. Dangerous intersections on the route will be marked well in advance with road signs and some may even have volunteer route directors. Please pay attention and slow down as you approach these intersections.
